USG Boral Malaysia Soars to Greater Heights with New Ceiling Products and Application System

22^nd November 2017 marked an important date for specialty ceiling systems innovator USG Boral Malaysia as it introduced 4 new ceiling products, namely Mars^TM ClimaPlus^TM panels, Olympus^TM Max^TM Climaplus^TM panels, DONN® DXM Grid system, and DONN® DXT Grid system. The product launch event was held at the headquarters of Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (Malaysia Institute of Architects). The event managed to garner an overwhelming response, with majority of the attendees comprising of architects, developers, distributors, as well as representatives from government agencies and the media.

The event started with a welcoming speech by Mr. Daron Cheah, Managing Director of USG Boral Malaysia. After the speech, Leanne Tan, Ceiling Category Manager of USG Boral Malaysia gave a brief presentation to elaborate on the application and benefits offered by the products. She highlighted that the Mars^TM ClimaPlus^TM ceiling tiles offer better washability, scrubbability, as well as scratch and impact resistance compared to many conventional ceiling tiles. Furthermore, it is designed to provide better acoustic transmission as it reduces noise up to NRC-0.70 – particularly useful to be installed in offices, hospitals, classrooms, dining rooms and food preparation areas.

Furthermore, the DONN® Grid provides easier and faster installation, with up to 40% less insertion force required. The grid also features cross tees that prevent grip drop during installation, providing a safer working environment. These cross tees can also be removed easily without using tools.

After the presentation ended, the USG Boral Malaysia team engaged audiences with an interactive mobile-quiz session which enabled the participants to have a better understanding and knowledge of the new products. A demonstration was also conducted to highlight the ease of installing and dismantling the DONN® Grid used for the new ceiling systems.

A simple contest was then held whereby participants were able to have hands-on experience to install and dismantle the DONN® Grid. Prizes were given out to the contestants who were able to complete the task in the shortest time. This contest successfully highlighted the ease of application and usage of the DONN® Grid to the attendees.

While the launching event was being held, USG Boral Malaysia also set up a booth display at the first floor (PAM Materials Gallery) to display the actual system to interested participants as well. The participants were impressed at the ease of use and the functionality offered by the new ceiling products, an acknowledgement to USG Boral’s status as one of the world’s top ceiling materials manufacturers in Malaysia.

This event was a resounding success and through it, USG Boral Malaysia has further strengthened its position as the country’s leading ceiling systems provider.
