Driving construction excellence at Ecobuild Southeast Asia 2017

Ecobuild Southeast Asia (Ecobuild SEA) 2017 is a 3-day exhibition held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on 12 – 14 April in conjunction with the International Construction Week (ICW) 2017. These leading construction events have attracted over 10,000 industry professionals, senior level decision makers and influencers from architects and developers, to local government and major infrastructure clients.

This year, the events focused on ‘Quality and Safety’ to bring up the importance of improving quality and safety in the construction industry while keeping up with industry growth. The events also touched on the topic of exploring sustainability as a driver for innovation and growth.

As an Accredited Applicator and a supporter of the betterment of the construction industry, USG Boral has once again participated in Ecobuild SEA. “We participated in Ecobuild because we would like to expose our products to architects, contractors, developers as well as the Malaysian building development industry,” said our Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Alex Yap.

This year again, we sponsored the Seminar Room, which hosted seminars by the Malaysia Green Building Confederation and CIDB. To showcase our new products: the Metal Ceiling and the Durock® Cement Board, we built actual systems using the actual products so visitors can gain better understanding through sight and touch. In the same way, we also showcased the curved wall and impact-resistant ceiling.

This new setup has proved effective in attracting more attention to our booth. In fact, we were given the ‘Most Creative Booth’ award by the organizers! It was a truly rewarding experience.
